About Us
Established in early the 2000’s, we are one of the country’s most well established inventory firms covering towns and villages across four counties, Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire. We are one of the original modern technology driven inventory reporting systems producing 10’s of 1000’s reports over the years.

Who Are We?
Our operating Directors continue to inspect properties on a daily basis. They have combined experience of over 40 years of inventory reporting, along with many more years in the property industry since the early 1980's.

Mark Dann
Mark has worked in residential property since the early 1980s, progressing to senior positions before co-owning an estate agency and lettings business in the early 1990s. Recognising weaknesses in independent inventory services, he later developed the Eventory concept while working as an IT consultant on high-profile internet projects. He founded Eventory in the early 2000s and has led the business ever since, remaining a hands-on inventory clerk. Mark has also featured in the Financial Times business section, Computing magazine, and as a guest speaker for Nuance Technologies. Together, Mark and David offer agents and landlords extensive practical experience and expert consultancy.

David brings over 40 years of experience in the property industry with more than two decades dedicated specifically to inventory work. He has built a reputation for precision, reliability and deep industry knowledge.
His long-standing career is rooted in the residential sector, where he has developed a comprehensive understanding of property management, compliance, and client service. David's leadership is shaped by hands-on experience, a commitment to high standards, and a passion for helping clients protect their assets through accurate, trustworthy reporting.

Areas We Cover
Why have an Inventory?
Regardless of how well a tenant may treat a property, it will inevitably experience changes by the end of the tenancy compared to its commencing condition. Wear and tear accepted, even the best Tenants can cause damage to a property, not request permission to make changes to a property or not think to report maintenance issues which by not reporting, can lead to a greater repair expense for a Landlord. Cleanliness is also a major issue where many Tenants do not leave a property in the same state of cleanliness they were given it.
Deposits taken from Tenants at the start of a tenancy are for a Landlords security to help cover the cost of these type of issues but can only be deducted when a Landlord produces formal evidence if a Tenancy dispute arises.
Inventory reports also act as a deterrent. Tenants are very aware of their increasing rights and so will be aware that a Landlord would be in a very weak position to claim monies from their deposit without the evidence a detailed, independent inventory report should provide.
Deposit protection bodies strongly recommend Landlords conduct a very detailed inventory and check in report at the beginning of each tenancy and conduct a check out report at tenancy end, preferably performed by an Independent Inventory Clerk
Additionally, most landlord insurance policies require an inventory to process a claim.
Inventory reporting standards greatly differ, what makes our reports superior?
All our reports are systematically laid out in a very easy to read and follow format using numbered reference lines all through.
We include full written descriptions of all relevant areas and items within a property backed up by unlimited time and date stamped photographs. Many Inventory firms now focus and depend on too many photos and not enough text. This may look impressive but do not provide the adequate written detail which deposit bodies also require.
Our Check out reports include the full original inventory along with a full range of end of tenancy photo’s. We then add easy to follow highlighted check out comparison notes which include our independent suggestion of responsibility or compensation being charged to a tenants' deposit.
All our reports are carried out by very experienced owning Directors or Clerk’s trained by our Directors
